I have a bunch of unwanted genres in iTunes that came from PDFs just prior to iBooks being introduced for iMacs. I now have no items in iTunes that use these genres, but the genres always appear in the genre drop down box when you use the Info box.

I have tried 3 things:

iTunes search to confirm there are no items using the genre (and indeed, there are no items dead or alive using that genre)

TrackSift (didn't work, reported that it did, but it didn't, even after restarting everything)

Trek Shift 2 Wsd

iTunes/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/Localizable.strings (didn't work for me, couldn't open the file in textedit and don't know what other text edit software to use, this seems the most logical option if I could open the file)
